"Do not worry, Mrtlindr. The trade paths are not too frequented this time of year. In fact, the reasoning behind that is part of the reason we are on this mission."
She turns and leaves, expecting the rest of the troop to follow her. As they travel, she explains the situation as soon as they are away from the Animas settlement.
"These lands belong to the Animas, by ancient treaties no race would dare cross. They are not simply ours by law; the land is our sacred entitlement. It would not accept other caretakers without our blessing."
"While the Animas people have no immediate need for coinage, it is useful in our relations with other races. They also offer goods that most of our tradesmen do not care to produce for a variety or reasons, like many forms of silk and cloth. Thus we have our exports as well."
"In this region, there is a wealth of Angel's Hair truffle--which I'm sure you know are highly coveted by many. The Boar people have always coaxed fungus from the earth, but here they do not even have the need. They simply harvest what is theirs by right--all of ours."
"The other locals also covet the truffle, less for its culinary wonders and more for the human coin it brings. The Council has declared that the Boar People have first right, as it is their ancient food and providence from the Earth. The locals also have the right to harvest them, but if the Boar people are Gathering in a particular area, they have that right."
"It is all too convient that they claim the Boar's have been painted--which means they are marching to war. Particularly since the area they have been spotted in holds some of the richest nodes in the region."
"We must investigate the claims of the settlement and find the truth behind them. Even the most ferocious of Animas do not declare war on mere whim; if they have, I fear the cause."
Yyrees stops in her movement and looks at the entire party very seriously. "Violence is not to be our first course. Investigation and silent observation is the first step and then Dialogue if necessary. These Boar Tribes are old and set in their ways and do not appreciate even the Council in their midst. Caution is our course. Anything but could throw not only my people into chaos, but the surrounding kingdoms as well."
She turns without awaiting their reaction and continues walking. "We break from the trade path here. It is the rest of the day's journey by your feet and we shall arrive at the ruins around dusk."
