That was good. It is pretty much what I have been waiting for from Moffat. Of course, I hate him deeply for making it a two-parter and leaving me in agonising fear of angels and statues and basically blinking for a whole week. But I liked it.

It was a good episode and a big improvement over the previous two. While it was nowhere near as scary as Blink the episode did justify the bringing back of the Weeping Angels. As Moffat said Aliens was clearly an influence on this story. Personanly I loved the scene with Song flying the Tardis. It summed the Doctor up perfectly, of course he could fly the Tardis properly (as he could also fix the chameleon chip) but it would be boring and wouldn't make that sound.

I was not as enthusiastic about Alex Kingston this time (compared to Silence in the Library). She seems to have only one setting. I would have liked her to be somewhat subtler. But I may be wrong. I AM glad River Song is finally reintroduced. And I like how Moffat put two of his major creations together (ie scary as hell Angels and Doctor's mystery future something-or-other).

I actually preferred her this time out, although I agree her character wasn't as developed as last time. We should remember that we are meeting the character earlier in her timeline and she may not be as developed or mature as she was previously. Alternatively it could just be down to the fact that this was the first episode that they shot and everyone was just finding their feet.

I wonder what it is she has done, which the priest does not think the Doctor would like to hear. Has she killed someone?

Failed to pay her TV licence, I imagine both the BBC and The Doctor view that as quite a heinous crime.

Thoughts?
