Everyone in the US pronounces it ki:-HO:-te:, though, following modern Spanish pronunciation.

It is important to keep in mind the mediaeval pronunciation of the x in Spanish, though, particularly if you study Nahuatl or Mayan. Words like Xochimilco or Xibalba start with the /sh/ sound.
