Everyone is mentioning the *spoiler* part which seems to choke everyone up MalkierKnight Send a noteboard - 28/06/2010 03:38:20 AM
It was sad, I agree, seeing the toys spiral down towards a fiery demise, but I did notice about halfway before they were rescued that the whole situation was a little ridiculous. Disney really played out the drama maybe one or two repeats in the score too many times, if you ask me. And come on, they're a bunch of toys. Anywhere else (say from the garbage dump employees' perspective) this scene is kind of funny.

That said, I agree it was a really enjoyable movie and everything that everyone says about it is good. Though maybe not as much as they say it is, but still very good.

What more interests me is the endless amount of adulation and praise pixar gets from its movies. They're kids movies. What's the big deal? They, like most movies, are rehashings of things we've seen before, journeys home, journeys to find someone, journeys to find yourself, simple adventures, we've all seen them hundreds of times, but because they're for children, we're able to suspend our criticism and standards. I love pixar and their movies are very enjoyable, but it's not as if they're doing something truly groundbreaking, right? (Aside from the animation technologies of course).
You must unlearn what you have learned.
