/Doctor Who: regarding silence *contains reference to things said in Confidential* Camilla Send a noteboard - 29/06/2010 08:29:01 PM
So. I have now finally caught up with Doctor Who Confidential, and there is one main thing that struck me.

As Mark pointed out, Moffat says that the Silence will be central to the next series (together with some River Song revelations), but it was the way he said it that bothered me.

Beth Willis said something about Silence (not the silence, as I would expect) being developed in that series; and after that Moffat says

What is that? Who is that? Who are the silence?

Now, I had assumed that silence would be ... silence, as a product of something bad, not as an active agency that can be described as a who or what and in the plural.

This suggests I am wrong about the Black Guardian, and it also puts all other suggested baddies on hold, I think.

And I am intrigued. I wonder whether it will have anything that directly connects it to River song.

I realise there isn't much to speculate on, but I am having withdrawals and I cannot really accept that I won't get my Doctor Who fix until Christmas, and even then just a tiny bit to tide me over the dark season.
