And god, was it awful. I am not going to mention differences from the source material, but to say they were plenty and quite irritating.
The pacing felt terrible and almost hyperactive, jumping from one place to the next. All actors except one were unable to show emotion besides sadness and battle-ready. Aang is not a character, but just the Avatar: a badass airbender who occasionally grieves. All in all, an awful movie that I would not recommend to anyone.
P.S. non-fans may in fact like the movie less than fans, as many things are not explained, but can only be understood with background. One quick example: During one of the narrations in the beginning, Katara says "Aang soon showed us to his home, blah blah blah...", and yet Aang has yet to have actually been named. Only after this narration does Aang introduce himself to us and the gang, telling them that his name is Aang.
A horrific destruction of a beloved show, making an awful moviegoing experience for fans and newcomers alike.
