Yes, the episodes are funny, and yes, the interactions are nice, but he's basically a big, whiny child who should be revoked with all his television privileges, because he tries to reenact the coolest battle scenes and breaks a lamp every time he does that.
And honestly, I get plenty of "whiny" (kids, adults, otherwise) in my direct environment. Both when I first saw ST, and now.
Best part of DS9 is that it's mostly Q-free. It does have a lot of Lwaxana, though.

I enjoyed Q very much. Great character. Loved the actor that played him. It was so well done.
