In the end of the last episode when they went to the sit down show with the vampire rights lady she mentioned the senator she was talking to was also against Gay marriage. It has certainly been toned down but discrimination against vampires is still a theme..

Anyway, the show is one of the campiest shows around. When I watch the recap at the beginning, it's so stupid and silly that I almost have to turn it off. But then the show starts and the fun begins.
