I am thinking maybe they'll make the challenges longer.

Project Runway is back, baby! And I am glad.

So there've been a couple of changes this season. The show is now an hour and half long instead of just an hour.... If they're doing this now when there are 16 designers, what are they going to be filling all that time with when there are only 4 or 5? I shudder to think. The drama is my least favorite part of the show, just get to the clothes!!
I was wondering that myself, actually. I think that the expanded time is worth it during the beginning episodes so that we can actually see more of the critiquing of the designs as well as learning more about the designers. However, I'm also wondering how much excess time we'll then have at the final stages.
Because that might be worth it, if they make the designers make two dresses each or something of that sort. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.
And...I do like the drama to a point. It's so entertaining.
While I don't necessarily miss Models of the Runway, I do miss having the insight of the models. They spend so much time with the designers that I enjoyed listening to their perspective.
What did you think of the first episode? It was fairly different from the usual format ...
At first I thought it was a bit mean (though it is a reality show) to hit them with a challenge right off. BUT! I think it might have been better than to let someone move in, only to have to move out the next day.
I have come to the conclusion that it is necessary in the first episode to have a designer send a model out half-naked. What I don't understand is how they let Jason stay when he stapled his dress together. At least Makaela (sp?) had a finished garment.
Yeah, I think that was a wrong decision.
Episode two! I am so glad Jason went home. Dude was crazy.
No crazier than Mondo in his "Blair Witch Project Runway" confessional: I'm so alone...I feel so sad...I need a cheeseburger.
Yes, that was really, really weird. That guy must have some kind of deeper issue with social anxiety or something. Or he's just a delusional drama queen. One of those two.

But, yes, another garment held together with safety pins / staples. You'd think he'd have learned his lesson.
Bad design for the challenge, poor execution, bad judgments all around.
I was sad to see Nicholas go; I was looking forward to more from him.
I was a bit surprised Gretchen won again. I really really liked the styling of her model's hair and the neckline of the dress, but I HATED the cropped pant with the clunky boots. Ugh, terrible. I really liked Valerie's dress and Mondo's too. I thought one of them was going to win ... but I liked all three well enough, so that's cool.
I liked this design, though I agree that the others were strong contenders. However, her garment did work better on a billboard than the little red dress.
It's true, it did look really great on the billboard.
Insert theme music here.
