I haven't seen the movie, but when I heard what it was about, I just assumed the characters discovered some "Land of the Lost" or "Lost World" type area where a small number of dinosaurs escaped extinction. That's not exactly out of bounds or unexplored territory in TV and films.

Meh. By the time I saw that, the damage had already been done. We had the standee for Ice Age 3 in our lobby for over a friggin' year before the movie came out. I had time to work up a nice cup o' rage. :D

Anyway, didn't the first movie have an alien spacecraft or some such frozen in the ice in one scene?

Couldn't tell you, I've never actually been interested enough to watch any of them. :P
