I liked the Richard Dreyfus nod to his earlier work in Jaws. *NM* PhotoJim Send a noteboard - 25/08/2010 01:53:53 AM
Not bad. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but a pretty fun horror that doesn't take itself too seriously. Now i don't like horror films, i hate being made to jump i hate suspense, this though was just about gore really, which i have no problem with. It was very gory. Some of the kills are just sick, but funny (except for one that is uncalled for, men will be wincing).

For those who don't know, basically it's spring break at lake victoria arizona and an earthquake or tremor opens an underwater lake to where for millions of years prehistoric piranha have been living (apparently eating each other). The piranha escape into lake victoria and just go ballistic. Meanwhile our protagonist a 17 year old boy who should have been babysitting his younger siblings has instead left the kids at home and he has gone on boat trip with a porn cast. He must save his brother and sister (who have of course left the house) and his friend who is a girl, but not his girlfriend.

If you don't think too hard for this film and take it for the bit of fun it is, you may well enjoy it. if you can't and you end up dissembling the likelihood that those piranha could have survived for millions of years or that nobody would be that stupid (many times over) then you won't really enjoy this.

The acting isn't great, the cgi is alright and the apart from the kills there's very little to the plot, but i still liked it. A respectable 3 stars.

You may be wondering if this is the same film you have seen trailers for and yes, it is. The tits are epic, glorious cleavage everywhere, the underwater scene was stunning. This film was worth it for the sheer breast screen time alone.

Noteworthy trailer, the hole from the director of gremlins (that alone got me interested) about a family who move into a new home and the two children find in their basement a bottomless hole. It looks really interesting i like the look of the sets and the colour play and stuff, like a darker tim burton thing going on.
Everybody was Kung Fu fighting!

Not to be rude but who are you? And I suppose equally important, where are we?
