Plus, to record a few shows each week just to watch them and then use the cassette again for the next, call me old-fashioned but it would feel weird to do that digitally 
I am gonna hold on to this thing until it breaks down on me. JVC from 1997, still running as smoothly as on day one. 
We have a cute little 9" tv from like 1995 in our dorm room with a VCR attached on the bottom ... it's a riot. My computer screen is larger.
