Should I? I remember when it first came out it looked like a possibly-good show. Now that I've seen Firefly, it'll be interesting to see Nathan Fillion act in other roles.

So is the show itself any good? Or do people just like watching Malcolm Reynolds crack jokes? Is there anything I should know coming in 2 seasons late?

Nathan Fillion is really good in it, but in my opinion the writing is awesome and the supporting cast is great.
Honestly, I'd try to see any of it that I could before starting Season 3 if I were you. It's not the kind of show with so much story if you miss an episode you'll be lost, but Beckett's story at least is important.
