I'm sorry if this is a geeky question of monumental proportions.
Yoda and Mace Windu were discussing the Sith at Qui-Gonn's funeral and they didn't know if Obi-Wan killed the master or the apprentice. Years later, while sitting on Dagobah, do you think Yoda knew all that had transpired?
Did he know that Sidious was the Master from the beginning, with apprentices in the order of Maul and then Tyranus? Or do you think he never knew and wondered if Sidious was the apprentice who survived Maul etc etc...?
I think he must have figured it out. Besides, That's one of the few things I question aboiut the movies, two Jedi Masters should have no trouble realizing that a padawan, no matter how advanced or promising, wouldn't have had a chance against a sith Master.
