I don't think I have heard Within Temptation. Tashmere Send a noteboard - 22/11/2010 01:12:34 AM

I haven't heard anything yet that I didn't like. I also ran across another band I am falling for. Have you heard of Symphony X, Jens?

I have heard of the name, but can't remember actively listening to them. Quoting the article I linked below they seem to mix "progressive elements to power metal and classical music", which does not sound like my kinda thing and makes me think of the dreaded female opera metal of Within Temptation and Nightwish, which I can't stand :D

I didn't mind Tarja. I actually ended up liking that style. It helped that the first piece I heard was their Phantom of the Opera number. Her voice was great for that. I did find that I couldn't take a steady diet of Nightwish but I did enjoy hearing them occasionally.

I love the mix of metal and classical. They are my two favorite genres and I think they are a match made in heaven. The first CD from Metallica's S&M album is a complete masterpiece.
