The tale showed all the elements of past and alternate Thors and made him into one cohesive whole.
The story seems to start with Thor being cast down from Asgard for his irresponsible bloodlust and warmongering and blatant arrogance, and made human to humble him (DOnald Blake?) This is mainstream history. He is then picked up by SHIELD sometime in the course of the plot and the mortals will think him a crazy man (nod to Ultimate Thor alternate story). Loki, ever deceitful, plots and brings in the Destroyer (the construct that shoots an energy beam from its head), which has the ability to kill gods, but needs a god to "wear" it).
I think that gold helmed black dude is Tyr, the Asgardian god of war. But his weird eyes make me think he could be Heimdall. If he is Surtur the fire giant king, imma be mad. Anyways, we also see a shot of Sif and Hogun (the Asian dude) fighting beside Thor against what looks like Frost Giants.
Oh and I love how they make magic and science the same thing for Asgardian "tech". And Asgard and Odin looked EPIC. Hopkins is amazing from what little I saw from that trailer. Looks like someone is stealing Thor's thunder!! haha
P.S. Clash of the Titans could have used Branagh's touch. The Asgardian gods in Thor outshine/act/etc more than the Olympians.
