Even in the pilot the stargate was used, and not just to arrive on Destiny.
Maybe it wasn't used in every single episode, but that doesn't make it not a Stargate show.
I've never really understood why so many people have dogged on this show, as it is the highest quality television of all of the Stargate franchise. No really bad acting from RDA and Co., no cheesy looking Goa'uld, no tongue in cheek humor.
