Considering we've been watching these movies for 3 decades now, and long before we could switch a DVD setting to "English" that used to be the only option we had.
Maybe it's nostalgia or the dubbing guys just doing such a great job, but now having seen the original versions of the comedies I mentioned I gotta say they are not losing much through the translation.
We quote more recent films in English though. Jack Sparrow comes to mind, who'd just not work in German.
