I think Elijah was just too fast for Bonnie. She was powered up and ready, but I understand her hesitance too.

As for Elijah and Klaus, who knows what will hold Klaus to his bargain? A lot has been made about these Originals and their honor, but we saw that in the end, when they want something bad enough, they look out for themselves and no one else. Is Klaus a man of honor? Will his honor (and nothing else) keep him faithful to Elijah? I'm sure we'll find out.

I liked that they fast-forwarded past all the locals and their vampire/monster issues. Who cares. There will always be humans trying to contain the vampire problem, nothing new or novel about that. What makes this show great is that they raise the stakes at every chance they get. Going back to the problems being dealt with at the end of last season would be pointless, to me.

John had a great ending - really a good redemptive act for him at the end. I always assumed he got the dagger from Isobel, but its unclear how long Isobel was actually being compelled by Klaus...
