In the original book on Star Trek, The Making Of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry was quoted as saying the first thing he did when working on a new series was to sit down and see how many different episodes he could think of based on the show’s premise. So, channelling my inner Cannoli, here goes.

ABC

Human -- Alien being occupies a person's body.
Good idea for a movie or mini-series; it would get real old real fast as a series.

Ghostworld -- Couple can see future and supernatural worlds.
Too close to Ghost Whisperer and Medium; been there, done that.

Inhuman -- Great criminals have been psychologically cloned; investigators must find them.
Don’t see the potential for many different episodes (MDE) in this one.

CBS

Untitled Larry Kaplow Project --Time travel.
Untitled Matthew Federman & Stephen Scaia Project --Time travel.
Another concept that’s never worked outside of British television.

Untitled Kam Miller Project -- Based on Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly mysteries, in which Harper speaks to the dead.
Don’t know the series, so can’t have an opinion on its potential.

Untitled Susannah Grant Project -- Surgeon takes instruction from his dead ex-wife; Jonathan Demme directs.
Maybe a good movie; no MDE potential in this.

FOX

Untitled Kevin Cecil & Andy Riley Project -- Fifties family travels to present day.
I don’t see much MDE in this.

Fail -- Siblings are beaten down by life as their father narrates from beyond the grave.
If I wanted a weekly dose of depression and bleakness, I’d order HBO to catch A Game Of Thrones.

Magical Law -- Legal-supernatural procedural.
If done the right way, has a high MDE potential.

Untitled Rick Eid Project -- Ambitious D.A. is aided by a ghost.
I don’t think so.

Black Chapter -- CIA unit uses paranormal means.
I’m not much for spy shows but might have potential.

Untitled David Hubbard Project -- Prosecutor finds herself caught between two realities.
Nope.

Smokers -- Alien exterminators in space.
Only if done as a comedy.

NBC

Untitled Mo Mandel Project -- Meteor is headed for Earth.
Hasn’t Jerry Bruckheimer already done this?

Emerald City -- Group of New York twentysomethings, each a character from The Wizard of Oz.
Very low MDE.

Wonder Woman -- David E. Kelley's reboot.

SFX -- Special-effects house works with the CIA to solve crimes.
If it was FBI not CIA might be worth a shot.

Untitled Bryan Fuller Project -- Modern-day version of The Munsters.
I’m wary of rebooted anything.

Mission to Mars -- NASA-like agency plans the trip.
Another good mini-series.

Untitled Michael Green Project -- Cops use artificial intelligence.
Untitled Mark Frost Project -- Cop with artificial intelligence.
I don’t get to many movies these days; what megahit have I missed that these writers are copying?

Ritual Crime Unit -- Paranormal-crime investigators.
A paranormal Criminal Minds might work.

S.A.N.D. Men --Inception-like show about dreams.
Not interested.

Vines -- Horror show set at a winery.
Very low MDE.

Nine Lives -- Supernatural thriller about people who've had near-death experiences.
Great; the Final Destination movies comes to television.

The Dark Tower -- Based on Stephen King's novels. King executive-produces.
Has potential; there’s certainly enough content to work from.

Echoes -- Young woman, when touching an object, experiences the thoughts of people who have touched it before.
Maybe.

Ghost Angeles --Young L.A. woman realizes that she can talk to the dead.
Yet another Ghost Whisperer rip-off.

Zombies vs. Vampires -- Humans, zombies, and vampires all co-exist.
I don’t think so.
