So Dr. Cuddy is leaving House high and dry, it seems. That's pretty much all her press statement said. This is...unexpected. I never really understood people leaving popular tv shows. How often does that turn out well for them, career-wise? Then again, maybe she just doesn't like the job or the people involved.
I wonder if this will affect my enjoyment of House...probably not much. Still, it kind of sucks. Maybe this is the beginning of the end? How much longer can House go on? The 7th season is wrapping up on Monday. That's pretty long in the life of a tv show.

I think Hugh Laurie is only under contract through next year and has said he's done after that. While I still enjoy the show, I feel it's either been declining creatively or else it relied entirely too much on novelty early on, then comfortable familiarity in the middle, and now with both those qualities exhausted, is starting to feel a little tired. Better to end before they seriously jump the shark (though some people have contended they already have with things like the new team, or the House & Cuddy relationship).
The season finale though was so great! I can see her having to leave the show as a way out for it though, obviously if she was in control of the hospital house would never work there again. Wonder if they are going to do a time skip, five years later house out of prison?
