Curse of the Black Spot and Victory of the Daleks are easily the worst episodes in Moffat's run to date, in my opinion. Funny how they were both the third episode in their seasons. The Rebel Flesh was fairly slow too, but I forgive it because it was setting up The Almost People, which I quite liked.


Easily. I also did not like Cold Blood and The Hungry Earth when they first aired, but I rewatched them recently and I felt a little more affection this time around. I think it was latent anger for Rory's death.

You make me want to rank things. So here's how the episodes fall out in my opinion, with the groups in order but no particular order within the groups beyond chronological.

The episodes I love

Vincent and the Doctor

The Big Bang

A Christmas Carol


I'd move A Christmas Carol down a category.

The Doctor's Wife

A Good Man Goes To War

The episodes that are pretty good

Flesh and Stone

Amy's Choice


I loved this episdoe.

The Lodger


This one too.

The Pandorica Opens


And this.

The Impossible Astronaut


This as well.

Day of the Moon


And this one. Okay, maybe I am a bit more generous.

The Almost People


I'd actually put this in the "average" category.

I'd move this one up to "pretty good."

I would move this one to "pretty good" or "average." I liked it quite a bit.

I'd put Night Terrors in "pretty good" or "average." Probably the latter. Though average for Doctor Who is still a pretty high bar. :) Even the episodes that sucked had some good moments!
