1. You are designing a tv series. You must choose actors for each of the following generic stock roles. You are so incredibly famous that any actor in the world would say yes to you, and would work for peanuts. Movie actors, tv actors, whatever. They would give up their fortunes to lick your boots. The roles:

- The grizzled ex-military commando spacejumping daredevil badass pirate captain with a heart of gold.

I might have to go with Russell Crowe.

- The impossibly cute love interest who dies at the end of the first season (spoilers!).

Zooey Deschanel, perhaps. She is impossibly cute.

- The wise old mentor figure who rides a flying space horse and wears a stetson.

It could only be Sean Connery.

- The queen of the Galic tribes circa 47 BC.

Christina Hendricks. What do you mean, anachronism?

- The precocious child who always gets into trouble but is secretly the leader of the unstoppable alien shapeshifting menace.

I don't really know child actors. All I know is Elle Fanning, and she's already something like 14. That makes me wonder whatever happened to the kid who played young Anakin in The Phantom Menace 12 years ago. Obviously he must have grown up by now. What does he do?

- The young woman who got lost on the way to the corner store and ended up hitching a ride with an alien and becoming stranded in the chaotic energy of time itself causing her to pop out randomly at different points throughout the past and the future.

Karen Gillan (Amy from Doctor Who).

- The sarcastic alien she caught a ride with, who wears a long coat and dual-wields toy Star Trek phasers.

I think I'll go with Summer Glau.

- The wisecracking ship pilot who used to be a dog before the unfortunate transmogrification.

Mel Gibson.

- Gandalf.

Chewitel Ejiofor.

If it helps with your decision, the show is titled Cheers: The Next Generation.

2. If you could keep one show, and one show only, on the air for the rest of your life, which do you choose? You can resurrect cancelled shows as well.

I'm incredibly tempted to say Firefly. I'm not sure if it has long-running potential though. Maybe X-Files? It's a harder question than I thought it would be. Maybe we should just go with Seinfeld.

3. Mulder versus Scully:

- Which is cooler?

Mulder is outwardly more cool, but I think Scully has more long-term potential for coolness.

- Which would win in a gunfight?

I think Scully would be the faster draw.

- Which would you want to join your team at work, and why?

Scully might be the more productive worker, but Mulder would bring the hilarity. Either that or he would sit down and stare at something and wonder what the hell he was doing wasting his time here, and then he'd say something snarky to the boss, and that would be funny too.

4. George Lucas decides to make money by inserting product placement into the Star Wars saga in the New Fourth Extra Special Edition.

- What is Chewbacca's beverage of choice?

He strikes me as a Mountain Dew kind of Wookie.

- What is Darth Vader's iPhone ringtone?

Something by Lady Gaga.

- Where does Han Solo take the Millenium Falcon for all his maintenance and tuneup needs?

Mr. Lube.

- Is R2-D2 a Mac or a PC?

It's a tough call. He's durable and useful like a Mac, but he's got hard edges and a mean streak like a PC.

- What is the most popular fast food chain on Tatooine?

I could see Dairy Queen making a killing there.

- What does Princess Leia use to relax after a hard day in the garbage compactor?

She indulges in slow-motion shower scenes with Herbal Essences shampoo. Han Solo sits in the Falcon cockpit with wide eyes as he listens. Chewbacca covers his ears and slouches.

- What is Yoda's favourite sports team?

He strikes me as a Denver Nuggets fan.

5. You can erase one movie from time, so that it never existed and never will. Which do you choose?

The Happening. Maybe then Shyamalan would have kept making fairy tale style movies that I liked and that everyone else hated.

6. Johnny Depp becomes Lord Emperor of Hollywood and will now play the starring role in every single movie, and will also be inserted via CGI into the starring role of every movie ever made in the past.

- What are the top three roles you'd want to see him as? Future or inserted into the past.

Johnny Depp as the Doctor in a feature length movie. Johnny Depp as Marty McFly in Back to the Future. Johnny Depp as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. Wait, can I have that one back?

- What are the three most ridiculous roles you can think of for him?

James Bond, Hannibal Lector, and Frodo.

7. Of the following, which would you most want to see a sequel for, and which would you least want to see a sequel for? Back to the Future, Kill Bill, Spaceballs, Memento (actually a prequel in disguise), Fight Club, Gladiator, Signs, Trains Planes & Automobiles, Kindergarten Cop, Hamlet (the undead sequel to the Mel Gibson version).

In the Back to the Future sequel, Marty wakes up one morning to find that his father is now an older version of himself. He must go back! to 1955 to figure out what went wrong. Doc Brown is now a robot. This is the one I want to see least.

The one I want to see most is Kindergarten Cop 2, starring current Arnold Schwarzenegger as an old man with a gut, two weeks from retirement, and he has to go undercover one last time! Okay, no, I don't want to see that one either. We'll go with Kill Bill 3: Revenge of the Little Black Girl Who's All Growed Up Now.
