And while there is is nothing like the classics, some of the recent zombie flicks have been great. Can't say that I am a fan of the torture films that have been popular recently.

My top few favorites are:

The Shining
Jaws
28 Days Later
Poltergeist
Dawn of the Dead (both the original and the remake)
Hell Raiser
Carrie
Shaun of the Dead (Best horror comedy EVER!)
