There is no indication that they are all coming back to Alcatraz. The other two criminals we have seen would not seem to have appeared there (the one Madsen & her partner were chasing in the beginning and the sniper), and the guy who was first seen in Alcatraz woke up with money and stuff in his pocket. The implication is that he was put there by whoever wanted him to kill the guy with the key in the safe. I was also under the impression that he was in a maintenance area or something, not his cell.

I might have missed something with the jacket: I thought he'd stolen it from a tourist... which doesn't explain how he knew to go and get the gun from the locker. Huh, alright.

Still, though, that doesn't change the fact that Jack woke up in his prison cell and wouldn't have been able to leave the island without the convenience of the tour boats going back and forth. I recall that the door to the room he was in looked like one of the cell doors, not like to a maintenance closet - though I could be mistaken again since I didn't know I was supposed to be paying that close attention, and we were eating dinner and taking care of the baby while the show was on.

It doesn't matter, though, since if that's how they actually did things we wouldn't have a TV show in the first place.
