Light and Darkness are as fire and wind. Fire brings warmth and comfort yet it withers that which it touches. The wind blows cold, lifting soil into the air, yet it also bears the seeds of earth. Each, then, brings both life and death.

When I saw the movie, I was able to follow and enjoy it for its own merits. Definitely a plus, given that movie adaptations of books usually warrant some degree of skepticism when plot is concerned.
