It seemed very much like an overview, getting us caught up with what everyone is doing and where they are, setting things up for the events to come. Yet if I actually pause to think about it, they covered a fairly good portion of the book in a single episode. That's good work. And it looked like they did it in a way that the average viewer could follow without needing to have read the books, which is all the more impressive.
