Meh. The movie was OK, I feel like it tried to do too much and didn't finish anything it started - Edit 1

(spoilers, obviously)

There are all these different plotlines that are basically... dropped.

Like, we have the "David the robot is super creepy and shady." It's half-explained by saying "oh, he's following the old guy's orders, and also he is passive aggressive towards humanity," but it doesn't really feel... right.

And we have the whole "The Engineers wanted us to come find them." What? Why? If the point of creating the Aliens was to create a weapon to send to Earth and kill us, then why did they want us to come find them?

And the planet wasn't even important! It was just where the ships had landed. It was like the Engineer version of Bikini Atol where we tested our nukes.

What was with that first scene, where an Engineer ate some goop and dissolved into the water? ( I assume this is how they seeded life onto Earth, but still, weird).

What was with the weird historical record holograms? Why were the jars of Alien Goo in a room with a giant Engineer head?

And, ok, at the end, "Oh, all right, there are other ships." Do they also have any survivors? Do they have any Alien Goop on them?

Why was the Engineer they revived so hostile?

Did anyone else think that when Shaw was going to say "ABORTION" instead of "CESEARIAN?"

EDIT- Also!:

What was the point of the dream monitor?

Why was there a young girl playing violin in the life support pod (I realize it was a hologram, but it still felt pretty deliberate)?

Finally, the imagery seems... haphazard? Like, it's there, but doesn't really click well? The name "Prometheus" sounds heavy handed. Shaw getting pregnant screams of Elizabeth (John the Baptist's sterile mother), David turns into an oracular severed head, etc.
