I thought the introduction of the new companion now was a brilliant move, the audience is going to struggle with the loss of the ponds so giving them a chance to "fall for her" now hopefully means she will not be asosiated with there absence. It also allows for lts of good speculation. Is she going to play the same character? If so, how given the developments of the story in this episode? No doubt a timey wimey solution. Alternatively given the name of her charter in this episode is different to that thought to be her companion name are we looking at a twin sister? I hope not. I also hope this not a simple case of this being the end of her timeline and the doctor going back to an earlier point, I want something a bit more interesting.

The divorce thing I think is part of the longer narrative that will play out this season. If you have not seen them check out the 5 "pond life" clips on YouTube that set this up. It seems the next episode is set ten months later in the pond timeline so I suspect that the next 4 episodes will not be one continuose trip with the doctor but the rest of the ponds life with him dropping in and out.

Good stuff ahead I think, this was a good start.
