Even though part of me still doubts there ever will be an official Episode 7-9.
Like someone just twittered: "The company that gave us The Avengers & Wall-E are TOTALLY going to screw up the company that gave us The Phantom Menace and Crystal Skull!"

But yeah, if they get the right creative heads and most importantly writers on board, this could open up so many new and exciting opportunities. Anything that makes us explore this galaxy far far away some more is good in my book. I've always been primarily on board for the mythology and world building.
That is pretty hefty news. I wonder what the new trilogy will be about. If they'll follow along with the Extended Universe books to some extent, if they'll try to folluw up after Return of the Jedi with their own new story, or if they'll fast-forward into the future and start a new tale with brand new characters.
Very interestng. An ongoing Star Wars franchise could be kind of neat, especially if they're better than the prequels. As long as they don't do any more revisionism to the original trilogy (and I don't see why they would), I'm down with some cautious enthusiasm.
