I've read The Hobbit more times than any other book throughout my life. It is the book that got me hooked on fantasy when I was a child.
Even with the years of build-up and warnings that new material will be added for the movies, I still had high hopes for the films. After reading several reviews, including this one, my hopes are dwindling. I'll go see it, of course, but I am not as excited as I should be or once would have been.
