So how is the Spoken vs Sung ratio throughout the entire film?

Because while I enjoyed the trailer and love Hugh Jackman, I am worried there will just be too much singing for my taste.
Oh boy. Those lines stuck somewhere between singing and speaking made me hate the Phantom of the opera movie. Annoyed me so much!
Most other reviews I read praised the film in highest regards, though. Then again DePalma hasn't delivered a good film in decades either, so maybe your choice wasn't so bad after all
The semi-sung, semi-parlando lines inbetween though, or more modest songs, are a problem, and not only for Crowe.

I take it you're too fond of the book to see it disgraced so in the musical version.

I think it's more the trashy nature of the songs makes it impossible to watch.
