I thought half the point of The Dark Knight was how Batman wouldn't just kill the Joker, and how problematic that made everything for him again and again. Superman is in the same boat, isn't he?

Sorry, I'm clueless about comic books so movies are all I have to go on.


He just will not SHOOT them. Heck, there is even a QotM about Batman dropping a pedophile off a skyscraper while informing the guy the falls terror will stop his heart before he hits the ground.
