It comes from the fact that Joffery turned "purple" and died. But yes, definitely a fan-driven name.

And yes, great acting and dialogue. The most hated character in TV just died.....it will cause a huge reaction, so no need for something over the top. Just let it happen.

The actor playing Joffery (Jack Gleeson?) is really good. I hope he doesn't get type-casted as being the evil young madman.
