Unless things have changed, he had no intention to pursue a professional acting career as an adult. He's mentioned a few times interviews over the years that Joffrey would most likely be the last role of his child-acting days before he turns his full attention to his studies and intended career (he's aiming for a career as a scholar/academic, IRRC)
