But this sounds like my view on pretty much the entire show, and the reason I am so unenthusiastic about it. It's good, maybe even very good, for a tv show. And I would be thrilled with it if I was seeing it with no knowledge of the books. But knowing the books and all the details and nuances that they are filled with, the show becomes just a checklist of top moments to be ticked off.

I recommend the show to people, yet I feel the books have so much more depth. The books have told a world to me, and the world is full of interesting characters. The tv show is trying to tell a story, a good story, but telling that story quickly.
