Carter was on the Daedalus, apparently twiddling her thumbs.

First, who has a fleet of ha'taks like that? I can only think of the Lucian Alliance, but I don't see any motive for them to attack a research station. (Going down the "oh, there was that one last System Lord we happened to miss" route would be really lame.)
eh, I assume that someone has probably stepped up to fill the void left by the System Lords. Either Lucien Alliance or someone new. I suspect we will find out more about it.
Second, I know the Asgard technology was installed on the Odyssey and not the Daedalus, but unless this is occurring only shortly after Unending, one would think that at least their weapons systems would have been upgraded. The Asgard have beams that can take out an Ori ship in two or three hits, a few ha'taks should not have caused them a problem.
They should have sent SG-1. Between Carter and Daniel, it would have been taken care of pretty fast. Or send McKay after Atlantis got back. But there wasn't any real indication of when in the SG timeline this took place. Only sometime after Oniell left the SGC. Speaking of Oneill, RDA gained a lot of weight it look like.
Third, each Stargate has a unique point of origin, which is the only symbol that differs between Stargates (within each galaxy). The gate at Icarus should not have had Earth's point of origin as a symbol, and if it did, it would have been eminently obvious, and it would not have taken six months and a genius drop-out video gamer to realize it.
The Ancient communication devices were a good touch, though.

I missed the explanation of how they got it working...twice.
They seem to have lobotomized Carter pretty thoroughly ever since she became the head of Atlantis. She hasn't been acting like the leading expert on wormhole technology (which she is, whether McKay likes it or not) for years.

It's definitely Stargate BSG without Cylons, but I like it well enough to keep watching. *NM*

Yeah, it definitely got me thinking about what a BattleStarGate would look like.

The Odyssey is a classic fantasical story. Much like King Arthur/Jesus Christ, etc. Great myths.
