Question on movie recommendation ethics Cannoli Send a noteboard - 28/03/2016 03:44:19 AM

Let's say you have a sister with an unwarranted attraction to a particular actor, let's call him Kris Seamsworth. And after hearing her go on and on about his appearance one time too many, you ask if she has seen his performance in a recent period drama, tossing out a side comment like "Is that man allergic to shirts or something? I never saw him wear one in the whole flick!" Except, it is, as mentioned, a period movie, set on an 18th century whaling ship, in which the character never ever takes off his shirt. Is that a cruel or mean thing to do?
