I used to do the weekly Lost post at Wotmania, and most people knew it...

Whenever I didn't do it within an hour or two of the show ending, someone else usually did.
Nothing was really lost, and rarely was there a problem with multiple posts about the same show.
I only did this because I had been promoting the show since months before it aired and wanted people to be interested.
If you really want to make official, designated posters for each show, it takes away a little of the spontaneity, I think, and makes it feel more like a chore. Feels kind of like forcing people into a club just because they talk about the same show every week. Alternatively, it's like saying that if someone wants to post about the show right after it airs (or while it airs), they have to wait for the official person to do it. In my experience, if someone posts an early or bland post about a show, someone else usually does a more in-depth discussion post, and again, it doesn't seem to add too much clutter. I'm never really a fan of restricting one person from posting or giving the right to post something to someone else, whether they complained or it was just theorized that they might be oppressing the posting prowess of someone else.
I don't like the idea that I could logon after watching a great episode of Lost and have to wait for someone to post the OFFICIAL LOST DISCUSSION POST and follow their rules, or be reprimanded/have my post deleted because it's someone else's turn to post and be the special snowflake of the week.
Most importantly, there are really a good number of shows that are discussed on a week-by-week basis, especially among sci-fi (as that was a common thing on the OF board, much to Larry's annoyance.) It would likely be a little complicated to try to designate a rotation for every frequently discussed show. Myself, while not active on this site yet, watch and contribute to posts about 6 or 7 different shows at a time. I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain, here or on Wotmania, that I was monopolizing the discussion of any show.

Seems like there's potential for some cliquish stuff there, though. Better official power to admins
