Is Tim now a terrible mentor?
I, like i figure most fans of the show do, have loved Tim Gunn in seasons past. I like having his insite and oppinions there. I like when he forces designers to think outside their concepts. Sometimes, i only get what a designer is doing after Tim has speaken to them and given them his input.
The judges don't always see things the way Tim does and they have famously reminded designers that Tim didn't make whatever hot mess went out on the runaway but it used to be a sfae bet that if you listened to Tim, really listened and took him to heart, you didn't fail 95% of the time. This no longer seems to hold true.
I noticed it some early int he season but the question really started to tug at me during the judging of Christopher and Eppherson when they were ripped apart on a set of outfits Tim had given them reason to be really confidant about. Now I'm watching Tim and wondering, have you lost touch with the judges and the designers? Have you lost touch with fashion? Or is it that aching tiredness he seems to have been carrying for much of the last 3 seasons that, to me really stands out this time. Has the show taken too much from one of its favorite cast members?
If the show has more seasons, should it be without Tim Gunn?

Maybe it should be without these guest judges rather than without Tim. For instance that horrible piece of shit that R'amon won for. It was horrid. You trust the judges when they pick something like that? You don't question their removal rather than Tim's? Are you watching the extending judgings? They are different than what you get on TV. Bunim & Murry are editing things like hell. Fuckwhores.
