Which probably isn't really enough to comment properly but I really didn't like it. I have seen a few adaptations and this one just seemed to be lacking the subtlety that seems appropriate for Jane Austen. The way Mr Elton and Emma interacted was far too flirtatious (can't quite think of the right word but that will do) and his being totally uninterested in Harriet was just odd. I thought that Mr Elton's feelings weren't supposed to be at all obvious until much later in the story and that he was supposed to show interest in Harriet...otherwise Emma wouldn't have been so convinced that there was something there, right? I mean Emma is sneaky and quite mean at times but she's certainly not stupid. The way it was acted didn't seem in keeping with what I know of Jane Austen in that people were overly forward and not very reserved.
I dunno. As I said, that's what I got from watching not all of one episode when there are 4 in total? So yeah. Could be I caught a bit that doesn't represent the rest of the adaptation
