It's not Hollywood, it's the viewers who are dumb. Once they stop watching and paying for Teenage Musicals and Saw films, they won't get made anymore. As long as people want them, Hollywood would be stupid not to provide.
There are still plenty of new, exciting and original releases each year.


There have actually been a few less this year because of the writers' strike, whenever that was. But there are still films worth watching (which says something about how many there were before). It's not a problem, if you have the sense to avoid the boring ones, and I have to see District 9.
