Every time I see a Dalek (including in that trailer) I get ill, which is never something I experienced with the old series. They used the Daleks as a recurring enemy, but not so often it got predictable.

I have very high hopes for this season as long as Smith can pull it off. I'm not sure about that last bit but I'm remaining optimistic.

I LOVE the fact the Weeping Angels are returning. "Blink" was one of the best Doctor Who episodes EVER!!!


The Daleks were in the first four seasons without a break (appearing seven times), then every year for Seasons 9-12 without a break, then in Seaons 21, 22 and 25. So back in the day there were plenty of times when they did appear far too regularly. Same with the Cybermen.

I agree that they should give the Daleks a rest now for a good long while, so it's more of an event when they return. But I think the BBC's contract with the Terry Nation Estate says that if they don't use the Daleks every so often, the rights revert back to them, so they may be stuck having to use the Daleks regularly or they lose the ability to use them at all.
