I didn't realize it was as episodic as it was. There's no central plot to keep things together, and no long story arcs. I watched the first episode (and loved it) then started the second, and had to pause after a few minutes to look the show up online, and make sure I was watching the right episode. There was no connection whatsoever between it and the last one. I've now watched five episodes, and they've each been distinct. I checked out some episode summaries online, and as far as I can tell, the trend continues throughout all five seasons. Each episode you get a random, meaningless adventure.

I know this fits the star trek model (and a lot of other sci fi shows have used it too), but I just can't deal with it. I don't mind digressions, filler episodes, character development, and so on, but I don't care for shows without central storylines. Which is too bad, because I love the characters and humor of Farscape.

Oh well.
