Of course the level of class was low, and sometimes that really bugs me in films, because it feels they insult my intelligence. Somehow it was fine with me there, though

How so? I mean there wasn't even a plot, really.
They already gave away too many things they had to go through, in the trailer. Of course, if it had not been for the funny trailer this wouldn't have become such a big success, but that's a general problem with comedies: They throw out the gems in the previews and during the movie you wait for another riot that doesn't come.
