You didn't see the auditions, much less know WHO auditioned. Maybe they couldn't get any good asian actors to play the roles. Demographically, there are more white actors at the level of Hollywood than there are asian actors. Even though they did not choose known actors, it does not mean they don't have to be of known caliber.
Sure...if they didn't even look for asian actors that'd be a travesty...
But the case could easily be that they didn't find any asian actors that made the cut, or their "omigod they're actually asian!!" was outweighed by the white person's acting skill.
I, for one, am not going to go pointing fingers at the casting comittee and calling them racist or biased without knowing who auditioned, at least.

What I meant was that if you're going to make a movie that's basically set in Asia, you should probably cast Asians in it. The wonky part is that they're casting White people to play characters that are meant to be Asian. If that was not made explicit in the cartoon itself, then the fact that they are using Asian extras to play those characters' family members is clearly a sign enough. And that smacks of the grand old Hollywood tradition of Yellowface.
And like I said, I'm pretty sure they could have found Asian actors. I'm not an expert on the casting process, but I'm sure they could have done it if they really wanted to. I am willing to bet that none of these kids are going to win any Oscars for their mad acting skillz.

I'm not saying it's an Asian show. You're right, it's totally American.

That would be a great excuse if the lead villain in the movie weren't being played by an Indian.
