Saunders and Wallace have done work in the last decade to clean up and provide support for Everett's theory of parallel universes. They have confirmed much of Deutsch's work on Everett's theories as well. Unfortunately there is not a ton of info available on Wallace on the Internet but knowing how the producers of LOST love those neat little shout outs in the forms of books and so on I wouldn't doubt if they know who he is. Here is a page with a little blurb about each of the men next to their pictures:

Quite a complex theory but very relevant to what we have always speculated about LOST and seems to be confirmed this season.

Oh, that David Wallace. Yeah, that makes more sense.
