Saw it earlier today. I'm definitely more interested now than I used to be.

The original TRON was an extremely impressive movie released in 1982. It was praised for its early use of CGI, although quite a lot of the footage in the movie was actually rotoscoped animation (the classic light-cycle duel sequence is mostly 'real' CGI from the time though), and had an otherworldly and unusual atmosphere and tone.
The sequel, TRON LEGACY, comes out in December and is being marketed as the next must-see 3D movie after AVATAR. Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner reprise their roles from the first movie, some of the same production designs are used (obviously highly updated) and they've got French electro-popsters Daft Punk (who have been highly influenced by the original film in their music videos) doing the soundtrack. It looks pretty good.

You left out how they've digitally de-aged some of the returning actors (at least Bridges) so that their avatars still look as similar as possible to how they did all those years ago. I thought that was a cool touch.

I need to refresh on the first. I don't even remember much about it. *NM*
