I think I was with you up until this one. Supremely lame scene. Well, if you include the bit which follows it anyway. Fake Amidala calling for public appreciation of the droid, Captain Panaka reading off his designation, Fake Amidala thanking the droid and sending Padme to clean it up... L-A-M-E. I would have liked that scene if they didn't blatantly announce the droid's identity and just let the audience assume.


Oh, I agree with you. It was a terrible scene, in a movie that was extremely disappointing. But, the experience was quite memorable. I couldn't believe people were standing up and cheering. I was feeling at the moment an early sense of forboding.
