I still think that somehow the ending of the island storyline, probably a big confrontation between Team Jacob (I can't believe I used a Twilight term) and Team MIB, will lead into the reality of the island sinking and the plane landing safely, with people getting rewarded (or not) for what they did on the island.

Of course I could be way off :D
